John van Olffen

The most important inspiration in painting is for me  Nature.  People, trees, animals.

Birth, upgrowing, retardation and death. I try too give this process a role, a place in my painting.

You can call me a figurative painter, but I am very interested in other ways of stiles. I am positive and optimistic and my guideline is: NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. I paint for over 40 years now and I am inspired by Picasso, Van Gogh and  some  others.

The stripes over the painting symbolise the balance between Creation and Destruction.                   Now and then I make sculptures or graphics, like etches or linographics.

Exposions I have had all over The Netherlands and I had contacts with galleries in New York and in Milan. The last years I expose on the internet. It is exciting to see that I get viewers all over the world, mainly  of the U.S., Canada and Australië. Also I had viewers in The Netherlands, mainly of Amsterdam.
